Petone Rifle Club Shoots Taranaki Champs Feb 2012
Five members of Petone Rifle Club make the trip north to Okato to compete in the annual Taranaki Champs. This year the long ranges were back in action with a double 900yd 15 shot on day one.
Great weather, fine and hot with a three minute sea breeze with one to two minute changes during day one at the longs. Petone shot well in the field of 36. Tomorrow’s forcast is for more of the same.
Day two saw much the same weather fine, hot with a steady sea breeze, 3 minutes from the left at 600 yds. Jonno shot to his best with a top scoring 150.17 over the shorts. The remainder of the club all producting good holding scores over the day. Petone managed second place (1162) in the club teams to Te Puke (1177). Five club teams entered the event.
