Members of Petone Rifle Club (PRC) benefit by belonging to an extremely social and competitive rifle club with strong support from its members and a warm family atmosphere.
PRC has a history of successful members at regional, national and international level. This expertise is passed on to all members by means of coaching and mentoring no matter your ability.
Age or gender is no barrier to shooting; we have members from their twenties through to their eighties. Men and woman compete on an equal basis.
How to become a member
Contact the club and arrange a time to come along and shoot or check the Wellington Rifle Association (WRA) calendar to find a time and range that suits. We mostly shoot on Saturday afternoons, from the beginning of September through to the end of April with a start time of 1pm. However the club has introduced Sunday shooting once a month for this season. Please refer to the club calendar under the events tab.
We have club equipment available for new shooters including rifles, jackets, gloves, ear muffs and ground sheets etc. We are very proud of our club rifles (CG Milleniums) they are of a high standard and are the same as used by alot of our club members and other fullbore shooters throughout New Zealand and the rest of the world.
Costs
The first day and introductory shoot will cost you $10.00. This includes your rifle hire, ammunition (12 shots consisting of 2 x sighters and 10 counting shots) and range fees.
